Dale Gempko
Jan 28, 2024

After a small hiatus we're getting back to sharing our members for #MedicMonday.

Today we'd like to introduce Dale Gempko. Dale is currently on D shift and assigned to Central Station (North East).

Name: Dale Gempko

How long have you been with Cecil County/Local 4645?: 4 years with DES in December.

How did you get started in EMS?: I started in EMS volunteering for Abingdon fire company as a “ride along observer” when i was 18. One of my first rides was a cardiac arrest save which inspired me to pursue it further which later developed into a stable career doing something i love.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?: I would say it’s the relationships built at work amongst co-workers, hospital staff, and the public. We are all part of something much greater than our selves. Strong social relationships are vital to living a fulfilling life. I’ve met a lot of great people working in healthcare/EMS.

What's something interesting about you that people may not know?: I came close to matching the state record for largest snake head caught in Maryland. Pictures to prove 😂
